Saturday 28 March | 10am to 4:30pm | Matangi

We are excited to host a beautiful, immersive day at Tomtit Farm exploring holistic food growing with Monique Macfarlane of Natural Wisdom.

This workshop is about reconnecting with the land, food, soil health and the wider rhythms of nature. Whether you already grow food or are simply curious about more natural approaches, this day offers inspiration, practical tools and a deeper way of seeing the garden.

What the day will explore

Together you will explore biodynamic and holistic growing principles including:

  • Gardening by the moon and planetary rhythms

  • Listening and responding to nature

  • Soil health, microbial life and ecological balance

  • Homeopathic and biodynamic preparations

  • Building deeper connection with land, food and wellbeing

A highlight of the day will be creating Cow Pat Pit, a powerful biodynamic soil preparation sometimes called a "wonder tonic". It can be used as a soil conditioner, foliar spray, compost activator, seed soak and more.

Later in the day you will work with biodynamic preparation 500, used to stimulate soil biology, support root development and build long term soil resilience.

A relaxed outdoor experience

We will spend the day outdoors on the farm. Garden activities will take place outside, with theory sessions and lunch undercover in the tipi.

Please bring:

  • A plate to share for lunch

  • Suitable outdoor clothing

  • Curiosity and openness

Tea and coffee will be provided.
